In celebration of the Jewish New Year, Noe Valley Bakery creates four variations of challah bread in a round spiral shape, symbolizing the cycle of life: Plain Challah, Poppy Seed Challah, Sesame Seed Challah, and Raisin Challah (raisins are added for a sweet New Year!) Noe Valley Bakery uses old-world baking techniques and the holiday's symbolic ingredients of apple, honey and dried fruit to make several favorites that compliment the traditions of Rosh Hashanah.
